What a Ceramic Coating Actually Does
A ceramic coating bonds directly to your vehicle's clear coat and cures into a hard protective layer. It doesn't sit on top like a wax or sealant — it becomes part of the surface. The result is a paint finish that repels water, resists UV oxidation, sheds contaminants, and stays glossy with far less effort to maintain.
For vehicles in Honolulu, Kahala, Hawaii Kai, or anywhere along the coast, a ceramic coating is the most practical investment you can make in your vehicle's appearance and long-term value.
At Standard Paint Protection, every ceramic coating installation starts with a proper paint inspection. We assess your clear coat, address any defects that need to be corrected first, and apply the right coating system for your vehicle and how you use it on Oahu.

What We Look For
Under our inspection lighting, we check for swirl marks from automatic car washes, fine scratches, water spot etching from Hawaii's hard water, UV oxidation, and buffer trails from previous improper polishing.
Vehicles parked outside in Honolulu, Ewa Beach, or Kapolei accumulate surface defects faster than owners realize. Hawaii's UV and daily contamination accelerate the process.
For vehicles with light defects, a single-stage polish before coating is often enough. For vehicles with heavier oxidation or scratching — like many of the Porsches and daily drivers we see — a two-stage correction gives you a surface worth sealing permanently.
We assess every vehicle and quote correction and coating together so you know exactly what you're getting and why.
